AGEING.
It is happening to all of us.

We're all growing older and the fact that you are reading this section on ageing indicates that, like us, you wish to maintain your youthful attitude and remain healthy and active for as long as possible. We all want to enjoy our later years to the full. Apart from other actions we can take, Herbalife has plenty of high-class products to help us do this.

Here are a number of interesting and perhaps surprising research statistics :-

Before it increased over the last 200 years the average life expectancy was 30 years and it was rare to survive past 60. Currently, men can expect to live until 78 on average and women an average of 82 years.

An 80 year old woman with a remaining life expectancy of 8 years, who follows the current trend, can expect to spend 7 of them with a physical illness and for almost 3 years she will need help with daily living activities. Men tend to die younger but with fewer years of dependency.

None of us want to have ill health and dependency in our later life and according to research "fewer of us have to". How we get old is in large part up to us.

The Good News is:- There are things we can do that will help more of us have a health span to fit our life span. If, like us, you're interested in doing this, read on. In this section we will try and throw some light on some or all of the following :-

• What is ageing and how does it happen?
• Why we still need exercise as we get older.
• What kind of exercise should we do as we get older?
• What about our diet, does it need to change?
• What can we do when our brains start to slow down?
• We need to know what to expect as we get old so that we are aware of what is normal and when we must consult our doctors.
• Can we avoid any of the illnesses that are more common in later life?

The research referred to was carried out by 'Help the Aged'.
